Every summer, Building Futures offers local businesses and residents an opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on young lives, and on our community. For nearly a decade, we have been offering educational classes to St. Louis youth in 4th – 12th grades, with an emphasis on problem solving. Our Benches by Teens summer project hires young people to create and build functional, attractive benches for area parks. How can you participate? By helping us pay for our Summer Program Student Wages and/or the cost of building materials. Here are some suggested giving levels: Materials to Paint One Bench – $47 Salary for One Student for One Week – $285 Materials for One Student-made Bench – $420 Finished Student -made Bench – $1,475 Our featured Summer Program benches are unique, colorful, and an asset to every setting they are placed in. And, more importantly, students gain skills and a boost in confidence and self-worth through the process of creating something useful others can enjoy!
